Its two out of two for Andre Greipel as the German bagged the second stage of the Tour of Belgium 2012
Andre Greipel of Team Lotto Belisol out-sprinted his major competitors during the second stage of the Tour of Belgium 2012.
The cyclist rode brilliantly during the 170 kilometre stage 2 of the race and occupied the top podium spot.
He completed the race in a quickest time of 3 hours, 46 minutes and 13 seconds and restricted Danilo Napolitano of Team Acqua & Sapone and Jacopo Guarnieri of Team Astana at the second and the third positions.
Adrien Petit of Team Cofidis, Kenny Robert of Team Vacansoleil-DCM and Michael Van Staeyen of Team Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator achieved the fourth, the fifth and the sixth positions in the respective order.
While commenting on his second consecutive victory at the Belgian race, Andre cited, "Today I am really happy with my sprint”.
“This finish does not lie, only the strongest wins in Knokke-Heist, eight hundred metres out I was led perfectly by [teammate] Greg [Henderson], who was on the wheel of Jacopo Guarnieri”.
“I could sprint the perfect sprint and started at the right moment, although it was more difficult than it looked".
“The Belgian ProTeam is pleased to win on home soil, and the victories here may pave the way to wins in the upcoming Tour de France”.
“This stage race is ideal for the sprint train,” he concluded.
The 29-year-old bagged a maximum number of 30 UCI points after the race while Danilo Napolitano of Team Acqua & Sapone and Jacopo Guarnieri of Team Astana finished at the second and the third spots with 25 and 22 points to their credit.
Jelle Wallays of Team Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator wins the first check of the most combative category while Ramon Sinkeldam succeeded during the second and the third categories of the event.

Andre has now maintained his overall dominance after the stage 2 classifications while Danilo Napolitano of Team Acqua & Sapone is 8 seconds behind at the second position.
Jacopo Guarnieri of Team Astana is further 8 seconds behind at the third spot with Kenny van Hummel and Pim Ligthart of Team Vacansoleil-DCM holding the fourth and the fifth positions.
