Itunes isn't recognising my Ipod when it has for over 2 months!?

My Ipod and Itunes have been working well together sense I received it for my birthday on June 15. But all of the sudden, randomly, it stopped recognizing my Ipod late last night. I've done everything I can think of- restarting the computer, looking at the Apple website, looking at other people's yahoo answers/questions, but NOTHING is working. PLEASE tell me what is wrong with my freaking Ipod!

ya try reinstalling itunes, you won't lose any of your music because it is store in different folders, uninstallation only affects the program files.

You should try to uninstall itunes then install again
