Itunes wont detect <span title="ipod.............................?">ipod........................</span>

I need serious help! My Itunes is not detecting my ipod. It shows that the ipod is charging but itunes says it does not detect a device. I tired reinstalling itunes and updating it. Can anybody help me?

just reset it press the menu and the center buttons at the same time until the apple appears
