Iv brought uk ps3 to america and when i try to play it the screen skips vertically and is unplayable?

please can anybody help as i want to play it. it jumps vertically as i said and is in black and white. do i need a special lead?? thanks

The problem isn't different power supplies.

The UK and the US have different standards in television. If you have a HDTV, it should work fine. If you have a standard definition television, get a PAL to NTSC converter. This will change the UK format (called PAL) to the US format (called NTSC).  I had the same problem when I was on vacation in the US, except with my camcorder. US TVs by default don't seem to be compatible with PAL. If you can't find a PAL to NTSC converter, get an adaptor that would let you hook the PS3 up to a PC monitor.

dose the power suply saY 60 HERTZ cause i think in the U.K they use 50 hertz

the first person to reply is correct. Your problem is different power supplies.
