Iv got the idle speed control valve off now do you know how to check if its working corectly ?

iv heard you can check it by using a battry and seeing if it works but how do you do that ?

Just thouroughly clean it with carb cleaner to remove the carbon/varnish deposits and refit it,it should be fine.Havent heard of the battery thing myself?

plug it back in to the car without refitting it, then start the car, you will be to see if the valve is operating, personally i would just buy a new one, don't know what car you've got but in general they aren't too expensive, and even if the valve is moving it doesn't mean it's actually orking 100%
