FSV Mainz’s new signing is confident that his side will be able to put in an impressive showing against the Bavarian giants.
The Croatian international signed for the Mainz outfit on a free transfer after leaving Bolton Wanderers at the end of the last season. The striker signed a one-year deal with the German outfit and is tipped to make his debut against
last year’s UEFA Champions League finalists, Bayern Munich.
If reports are to be believed, Klasnic was being closely monitored by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 after they failed to sign an appropriate replacement for Andy Carroll, who left on loan to West Ham United.
Klasnic admitted that Bayern have started the season on a sensational note and that the Reds will start the game as favourites. He stressed that the former champions have added some great players to their squad this summer which
has made them one of the favourites to win the league at the end of the season.
However, the attacker added that a lot of Bayern players will be away with the national sides during the international break. A hectic schedule for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers could affect the players’ performances and the forward
is optimistic of his side’s chances in the game.
“Of course I've seen that Bayern are in great form right now. But they have a lot of players who'll be away with their national teams. It can be a handicap if only part of the team have trained together for two weeks. It remains
to be seen whether those players come home fresh or tired,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Werder Bremen man has admitted that he will be fit in time for the game against Bayern Munich in the league. He is looking forward to continue training with the team and has left the decision on the manager.
“On a personal level, I'll have to wait and see if I'm fit enough for the Bayern game. But I'm not looking that far ahead yet,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will host http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 at Allianz Arena on Saturday, September 15.
