In their next Euro 2012 fixture Croatia take on the challenge of the title holders with their progress to the knockout stages of the tournament hinging on the final result of the match.

Responding to questions regarding reigning European champions, Perisic hailed La Roja squad for the quality individuals they have in their squad but rejected suggestions that they are favourites. He claimed that underestimating Croatia will be a big mistake

"There is so many options and Spain were already leading after opening ten minutes from what I have seen," the 23 year-old told reporters.
"We are both great teams and everybody needs to focus on their [own] team, and try to win to be sure to avoid any [goal difference] calculation."
"Spain are not favourites and I thought Italy were better than them in the first game, and we will be prepared for the game after the analysis of videos and tactics we will do later in the week."
"We changed some positions between midfielders, did some rotations at half time and the result was our much better performance in the second half,” he added.
“We have enough quality players up front, it's not just me and I know that we can play better."
Croatia are set to meet Spain at the PGE Arena, Gdansk on a pitch that has finally risen to their expectations.
