Chelsea’s defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 is back in business, after he scored a goal against Aston Villa in a Premier League match on Saturday.
The Spaniard, who netted the ball after a long wait of six months in the league, was instrumental in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s 4-2 win at Villa Park, grabbing a stoppage time goal to secure three points for the Blues.
Chelsea are currently eyeing a place in the last four of the Champions League competition, and will square off against Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final of the FA Cup on the 15th of April. The Serbian was hopeful that the 50 million pound striker
would be able to carry his form into the closing stages of the season and maintained that he remained a valuable asset for the Blues in both the competitions.
Torres ended his 6 month goal drought in the Premier League with the scalp against Villa. His last goal in the league came against Swansea City on the 24th
of September at Stamford Bridge. However, he was suspended for three matches after picking up a Red Card during the same game.
Before the Villa match, his last goals for the Blues came against Leicester City in the FA Cup quarterfinal, in which he netted the ball twice. During his side’s 4-2 win on Saturday, he also picked up two assists for Ivanovic.
“It was an important goal for him. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-c13609 has been going well and playing well all over the pitch,” Ivanovic said.
“He's been doing everything for the team and I think he deserved that goal. He is a great player. Of course he has felt the pressure and so it was important for us to support him.”
 The 28 year old heaped praised on Torres’s selfless character and highlighted that even though the player was short of scoring goals, he has been picking up passes for the other players. He also thanked the Spaniard after the Villa match for his two assists
during the game.
 “We know how much he has given us. He doesn't just play for himself but he plays for the team.”
 The Serbian also pointed out that the Blues, who have had an onerous season, will be the underdogs in the Champions League and believed that they can use this to their advantage.
 "If people think like that it can be good for us because we will feel less pressure, which in games like this can be very important"
