Ivanovic takes ranking hammering after Indian Wells

It had to happen sometime, and it looks like that time is now. Ana Ivanovic’s ranking has plummeted from world No. 28 to No. 58 after she was bundled out in the second round in 2010. Ivanovic had been runner-up at Indian Wells in 2009.

It’s the first time Ivanovic has dropped out of the top 50 since 2005. Luckily she doesn’t have too many ranking points to lose from the remainder of last year’s performances – fourth round showings at the French Open and Wimbledon were the best of them.
