  1. Do it, your mouth will thank you, it's delicious!

Start light with a California roll. It has avocado and imitation crab and nothing raw. If you like that, they you can move on to the fish ones.

  2. its good but start with something simple like a Cali role, and eat something like a crab role or tune role. start off with that to see if you like the taste ^^ good luck

  3. my god SUSHI IS MY LIFE. if you live in los angeles you've got to go to at least one sushi resturant in the west hollywood/ bev hills. i suggest nobu. THE BEST. costy but trust me it is amazing

  4. Sushi has a more fishier taste, I think it is very good but you have to really like fish a lot to like sushi. When I went to Florida I tried eel sushi it was very good it had a sweet flavor as gross as it sounds. I also tried shrimp sushi but I found the shrimp to be way too fishy for me. Raw sushi will taste fishier than cooked sushi so like I said it depends on your taste and how well you like fish. If you are going to try it I would try different kinds because they are all so different.

  5. i love sushi its ace!! if you want an inexpensive taster try asda (or wallmart) its not the best but it can get you started

  6. Vital eat FRESH sushi as the difference can be a pleasent experience to a food poisoning experience.  Never eat sushi when; served at a buffet, "$1 special sushi", any "special sushi", all you can eat sushi, sushi that has a ton of "sauce" to mask the taste, or served by anyone not Japanese!

Your sushi should be a lot of fish with a little bit of rice.  Drink hot tea or hot saki never anything cold as it won't sit well.

  7. h**l yeah! Go to Wockano in Downtown Los Angeles. It's a classy but reasonable place with delicious sushi options. Start out with the CA sushi roll or the Spicy Tuna roll.

If you want to be a little adventurous try the Rainbow Roll, which has salmon, avocado, crab, and I believe tuna. Or the Dragon Roll. The Dragon Roll has eel.

  8. i tried it, and felt so bad that i literally couldnt swallow it!  i kept telling myself "just swallow, you are a grownup, this is food", but i just couldnt do it.

some people love it (most of my family does), supposedly it's an acquired taste, but i dont know how anyone acquires it, blech!

the seaweed is vile, and im sorry, but surely you could start a fire and cook the darn fish, eh! ;)

  9. If you like fish you will probably like sushi  it is just about the same taste but you have choices of sauces if you like the, the more choices because it is cold.., like peanut sauce it is delicious, you should try it before you turn your nose to it.....you might miss something that you really like!!!

  10. there's a really good place called maki maki in the irvine spectrum. their dragon roll is really good!

also, there's another place called toro in alhambra, and their dragon roll is good too!

dragon rolls have the typical crabmeat and stuff, but has eel and avocado topped on the sushi with a very delicious sauce!

  11. There are so many different kinds of sushi that it's kind of like asking if cookies are good.  I mean, I like chocolate chip cookies but not coconut cookies.  see my point?

If you want to try it the basic roll is California roll, which is a good place to start - crab, avocado & cucumber.  If you want to try something sweeter, there is the Manhattan roll, which is salmon, apple, and avocado.

Sample a few based on the ingredients.  Good sushi places will have a wide variety of rolls including tempura shrimp, fried sweet potato, pomegranate, asparagus, cream cheese, etc.  I'm sure you will find something you like.

  12. It depends on your personal taste. If it is your first time, try a california roll- it is raw tuna. I personaly like the flavor, but the texture is what gets to me..... ech!

  13. I like sushi.

The man who suggested starting with cooked sushi didn't understand the fact that, if it's cooked, it's not sushi.

When you first try sushi, do it at a restaurant that specializes in sushi and has fresh fish brought in daily for their sushi.  If you live near a city, go to the part of the city known as "little Tokyo" where the orientals congregate as that's where you'll find the best sushi.  Coastal cities have lots more seafood available and more restaurants have good fresh fish for their sushi.

  14. Sushi is AWESOME!!!! If you get some cheap sushi it wont be or if sometimes you'll find premade frozen stuff at the store and its nasty too.  To fully enjoy sushi try it fresh as a restaurant or sushi bar

  15. I like sushi.

When I was in Tokyo I loved to eat salmon onion sushi... but it is one of the most popular with foreigners in Tokyo.  Tuna is also very popular.

If you are concerned or nervous, start with a California roll.  It only has a small bit of sushi in it, but it will get you use to the idea and the flavors.

I also love Beef Sashimi... but I was one of the only westerners to eat it when I was there.  Loved it... but it is so expensive.

  16. According to Judas Rabbi from the Polls & Surveys category, Sushi is very good.  He's in L.A. and I do believe that it must be good for him to mention Sushi.

  17. it all depends on where you go to eat sushi. not all the sushi restaurants are good.

  18. i think it's gross but i know a ton of people who like it. i just can't get over the fact it's RAW FISH.

  19. I like sushi. I would start out with the cooked sushi. It is very yummy.

  20. vegetarian sushi is good. i can't bring myself to eat the raw fish, though.

  21. Yes it's gorgeous, but like any food you have to go to a proper japanese sushi restaurant to get anything decent. The chains like Yo Sushi don't really do sushi, just other oriental foods. Real sushi is just raw fresh fish, & as long as it is fresh then it's very nice.

  22. I have never tried Sushi. I have yet to taste this.

  23. Its soooo good. It was year before Id actually try it and I wish I had tried it sooner.

Not all sushi is raw fish.

  24. Ewww...I tried it and it was nasty.  If the raw fish wasn't enough, then the green seaweed stuff that was so salty and icky was the final straw.  It all stuck to my teeth.  The rice was so sticky and it took forever to get the taste out of my mouth.

A lot of people like it though and it would be worth a try.  Mine was from a grocery store, so there is probably better sushi out there.

  25. I believe it something you must acquire a taste for, like good wine. Some people think it is bitter some can't stand the smell others actually can taste the sweetness and the spice of the barrel it was aged in and some can sense the fragrance.  To each his own. Its not for everyone but to some its great for others its just bait.

  26. It's my favorite food in the world. I love it!

Contrary to popular belief, the word "sushi" doesn't mean "raw fish" (that's "sashimi"). "Sushi" means "vinegared rice". Most types of sushi DO have raw fish, but you can find kinds without it.

There are many different varieties, so you can experiment and find what you like. I reccommend anything with crab in it, since crab is my favorite. Crab, avocado, cucumber, maybe some salmon roe....good stuff.

Just please make sure you go to a clean, reputable sushi restaurant! NEVER get store-bought sushi (usually it sucks), and NEVER get it at some Chinese buffet (worst sushi ever). Go somewhere where the sushi chef knows what he's doing.

  27. Honestly.. I didn't like it. It really had no flavor when I tried it. But I didn't try it with any sauce, so just give it a try. If you don't like it, its okay, Sushi isn't for ever body.

  28. Yes, it is. I mean, it's like anything - if it's made badly or from inferior food, it won't be good. But in general, with fresh fish and well-made rice, it's really tasty. If you don't like fish, there are also rolls with just vegetables.

  29. sushi is soooo gross..when i went to japan..my host family made/got me some..nastiest S**t EVERRRRRRR

dont do it if you love your tounge!

  30. eck  i dont like sushi one bit-

personally couldnt pay me enough to eat it

  31. I love it although I've been eating it even since I can remember. It's an acquired taste actually so just try the cooked variety before getting adventurous. I suggest trying the california roll, spider roll, tempura roll. Those are all cooked and I'm pretty sure you'll like it. There's a place in Pasadena called A'float Sushi where you can see a variety floating around the sushi bar. The atmosphere is great and the style is different, so you'll see it before hand.
