  1. Here's a question to answer your question: Do you fancy looking at every snowflake in the world checking if two are the same?  If you manage to find two the same, and they haven't already melted, please tell me. But, still, as the snowflakes fall, their individual weight and shape must subject them to varying amounts of air resistance and friction, probably causing the crystals to separate, making each one different.

  2. Snowflakes are not formed instantly. They are water cristal that grow as water droplets meet them. Tiny water droplets cannot freeze easily. Water needs to give away energy in form or heat in order to freeze. Since the droplet is so tiny, it doesn't have a mass big enough to dissipate that energy. That's why you get undercooled droplets, something that is very dangerous to light aviation.

When the tiny snowflake grows by meeting water droplets, it does it in a totally random way: there is no way to predict exactly how the will meet. Hence the shape of each snowflake is totally random.

  3. It is like fingerprints and Iris's but true. If you look for long enough you'll see.

  4. They are infinte numbers of variations right down the shape of individual crystals.

  5. they don't no 2 snowflakes r thee same
