  1.    HDMI from PS3 to TV and optical from PS3 to receiver. You have to set HDMI out and optical out on BD/DVD video and audio settings from PS3 menu.

  2. You only need HDMI going from ps3 to TV.  Your TV will have an input selection within the on-screen menu.  Select HDMI (you may have more than one input, select the one you plug in to)

for surround sound, you have to run your audio cable from your TV to your amp.  This can be optical capble, or RCA cable.  Your TV will have "Audio out", run cable from this output into your amp labled TV, or VCR, or VIDEO, or SAT, or THEATER.

    Good to go.

  3. WHAT MODEL NUMBERS!!!!???????

  4. HDMI does it all. Just connect the HDMI to your TV and it will carry the audio and video. Don't need the optical at all unless you're also connecting your PS3 to a receiver or amp that doesn't have HDMI. Then connect the optical to it.
