  1. go to your local bookstore and get "The Complete Idiots Guide To Vegan Living" I just got it and it tells you everything !

    :)

It tells you everything from where to get the nutrients you are missing to how to ease your way into it .

    it's great .

    :)

  2. This site should answer all of these questions, and more:

    http://www.vegansociety.com

A well planned vegan diet is one of the best ways of living that we know of, both physically and spiritually. It's a powerful way of living, and a great choice.

You can ease into it if you wish, although some ppl also dive in. Just make sure to properly educate yourself on all aspects of vegan living first. You can get poor results on any diet, so make sure you're well infomed. After that, have fun!

  3. Good for you & congrats on wanting to go vegan :D

    Here are some helpful websites:

So basically a Vegan is someone who eats no animals but also no animal by-products. This includes dairy, honey, meat and eggs.

When going Vegan, it's important to go your own pace. I would start off by cutting out small things at a time. Since you are already a vegetarian, you could cut out eggs and then honey. Not eating dairy is a big deal, but can be broken down into steps:

    1) stop drinking milk as a bevarage (switch to soy)

    2) stop eating icecream & yogurt

    3) switch to vegan margarine instead of butter

    4) start cooking vegan meals with dairy replacements

There are also many food replacements, so you can still enjoy the foods you love but in vegan form. For example, veggie "chicken" nuggets, soy icecream, deli "meat" slices...the list goes on and on: http://www.chooseveg.com/vegan-substitut...

Also if you want to talk to a Dr before starting, that would be wise. He/she can give you any vitamins that you should take, because as a Vegan you do miss out on some nutrients. But it is definetly worth it! Good luck & congrats :D

  4. First of all, good for you for being a vegetarian

And Vegetarian a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.

As long as you balance out your needs of nutrients, vitamins, and calcium by sticking to your food plan then there's no need for a doctor.

This website shows you how to stick with your food plan =]

It will be hard to get use to but once you find the foods you enjoy it gets easier and easier =]
