Ive been eating almost nothing and been going to the gym everyday and i only loose 2-3 pounds a month.?

i go to the gym everyday and burn 400 calories off and i dont really eat alot like for my meals i eat a gronola bar !! and i only loose like 2-3 pound tops a mounth whats wrong with me and do you know any good deits and routines i could use to help me loose weight ihave somelove handles and im starting to get a tire tummy i dont know if its just me growing or if im im just gaining weight .

  1. My mum has recently started to lose wight and the best thing to do is eat! This is simple and easy answerer go to somewhere like slimming world and go on there diet plan you will soon start to loose those pounds. All the best of luck!!:)


  2. you need to eat more calories - your body is adjusting to the amount of calories you are eating so its going into a "starvation mode" and you are not loosing any weight.  you need at least 2000 calories a day plus the extra calories you burn off at the gym.

  3. there's your problem, you need to eat at least three healthy meals a day.

    your body is in a "panic" mode, which means it is going to put on fat where it feels you need it.

    my Meal Plan for one day

    Breakfast - 1 cup Vanilla Yogurt with cut up 1/2 banana, 1/4 cup blueberries and strawberries and 1 boiled egg

    Snack - 1 cup of carrots and cucumber, 6 cheese(marble) and crackers (whole wheat ritz)

    Lunch - 1/2 cup pasta with home made low fat sauce (Alfredo or Tomato)

    Dinner - 1 Chicken Breast (Skinless Boneless), 1 cup cooked broccoli, 3 baked mini potatoes

    Snack - 1 1/2 cups pineapple and honeydew melon

    This adds up to about 1300 calories a day, i burn about 200-600 calories in the gym/playing sports or at home exercise a day and more to walk to the grocery store or to walk to work(which is about an hour away). I am losing weight at the moment at about 2-4 pounds a week, this week I cheated and had a small thing of ice cream which was 300 calories and I only lost 1 pound.




  4. eat first thing in the morning..yogurt and 1 egg. Eat a reasonable lunch like low fat lean meat whole grain bread and veggie sandwich (no cheese and no mayo type condiments) For dinner eat something light like cooked veggies and fruit. DO not eat at least 2 hours before bed. and keep up the working out. At the gym use a treadmill or exercise bike at least 20 minutes. Not eating is not a good diet and makes the body think its starving so it saves as much as it can. Feed it properly and it will function properly. Oh and of course...lots of water.

  5. Because you're eating so little your body is adapting by storing fat.  You need to eat a good amount of food, but make sure that it's healthy food.

  6. Your body is going in shock and storing everything you eat. Do starve yourself just eat healthy and exercise daily and you will see results it take time to lose weight the right way. Eat lots of proteins just make sure you balance your meals look up the zone diet.

  7. not eating is not the answer to lose weight.  not eating=searching for food to eat.  what you need to do is have smaller portions of healthy food (no sweets, sodas, etc.) 3x meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  2x snacks.  small portion meaning not succeeding the standard amt of cal you already have.  400 cal is not losing anything (fyi), you need to do more workouts.  cardio, strengthening, etc.  mix it up for the whole week.  start off by running 1hr everyday, then gradually work into 45min + additional work out.  make up a workout and diet schedule.  follow it through.  mainly, if you want to lose weight, you need to be committed and also make changes to what you are doing now....    

  8. You are not eating enough. Eat more before you work out so your muscles will have something to burn. It is unhealthy to starve yourself.

    Also when you go to the gym and do your cardio make sure that you do at least 20 min at one time don't switch to something else and slow your heart rate.


  9. Drink water, drink water, and drink more water...Also...you NEED to balance your meals. You are CRUSHING your metabolism by not eating several small square meals a day. You need other things besides gronola, gronola is good for you, but use some other items off the pyramind too! And by the way...2 to 3 pounds a month isnt bad. For a girl, who just has little love handels and starting to get a tiny tummy, I am sure you are not fat. It is easier for bigger people to take weight off...not so much for smaller people.

    Do some research on the several small square meals a day. You will feel alot better and lose more weight.

  10. Your calorie content has burned off your muscle and now your metabolism is ruined (hopefully temporarily) It cane take a long time to get it fuinctioning at 100%. Don't do foolish things like this, you are jeopardizing your healthy and setting up yourslf for adult obesity.

  11. 1). eat more calories! You are telling your body you are going into starvation mode, so your metabolism slows WAY DOWN! 6 small meals a day is ideal.

    2). drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day.

    3).Talk with the trainer at your gym for specific excersises.

    4). Cut way down on carbohydrates ie: breads, pasta.  Increase lean meats and veggies.

    5). Keep at it, your health and weight are for a lifetime.

  12. Your body has gone into starvation mode for sure. You must eat to lose weight. Try a higher fat low carb way of eating to lose properly.

Why don't you try giving your body food (proteins, nutrients, vitamins) things that help PROMOTE weight loss.  By starving yourself your body is a shock mode.  If you eat 4 small healthy meals a day and continue to work out, I'll guarantee you'll see results.  Remember you want the pounds to come off slowly, that weight its easier to keep off.   Not like a crash diet.

  14. try eating only good foods and working out an hour or 2 a day ,swimming is the best thing to do it helps you loose more weight and also jogging but dont stop eating it really bad for you and you pass out alot so dont its also not healthy

  15. the problem is now that you've been eating nothing and working out as well your body is in starvation mode and storing anything you eat as fat and by now you've killed your metabolism.....start slowly eating more so that you end up w/ at least 1200 calories a day....and your gonna need more if your working out as well....i know you dont want to but your not gonna lose weight unless you eat more

  16. You might have put your body into starvation mode. If you deprive it too much, it's going to try to hold on all of the fat you have because it thinks it won't be getting more food. You should eat lots of small meals throughout the day of 1200-2000 calories to lose the weight effectively. It sounds weird, but you actually have to eat to lose weight sometimes. Avoid hydrogenated oils, which I'm sure you already do, and other bad foods.  

  17. When you excersice at a gym you also build muscle tissue, which is hevier than fat, so that's why you don't loose a lot of weight.  Also your body adapts to certain routine and after it adapts its not really a "work out".
