“I’ve been pathetic”, James Wade – Premier League Darts
No matter how hard he tries, James Wade has not been able to revive his form.
Emerging as the champion of Premier League in 2009, and then a runner-up in 2010, Wade is looking for the spark to once again rejuvenate his career.
At McCoy’s Premier League, following three consecutive defeats, The Machine will now be facing Kevin Painter at Westpoint Arena for his next encounter.
Interestingly, Wade was going through a similar streak of defeats back in 2010 when he won the title. However, this time he wants things to work differently for him.
"I reached the final in 2010 after failing to win any of my first five games, but I don't want to leave it too late to get off the mark this time," he stated.
At present, he can be said to be the most frustrated darts player in the mainstream of darts. He is aiming to make a full return from the psychological problems that he has been suffering from for some time now.
To cure them properly, he is still consuming medication, but there are still no apparent signs of improvement currently taking place in his game.
He said, "I can't keep playing so badly, it's awful. But I don't think I've been at my best since 2009 - I'm not happy with the angles that my darts are going in and it would just be nice to scramble a win of any sort".
In addition to this, Premier League is not turning out to be the event he was looking forward to.
After making it into the semi-finals at Ladbrokes and being defeated by Adrian Lewis, Wade is still looking for a breakthrough.
However, it is important to mention that he is just not the only player in the mainstream of darts who is currently looking for a breakthrough.
Other notable players facing similar circumstances include Andy Hamilton and the Dutch darts player Raymond van Barneveld.
Hamilton, since his last appearance as a finalist at Ladbrokes, has not been able to boost his career.
Similarly, Barney has been looking for an incentive to continue the once reigning glory that he enjoyed in the game.
