I have the entire E Pentatojnic minor scale but how do i learn the solo from it? Scale are driving me crazy. Improvising and playing at random spots to songs on the guitar is fun but then my guitar teatcher said i have to use scales and ive been working on this solo and all the smaller solos for like 5 hours.

  1. dont waste ur time on those scales.

if u want to play sweet child solo then jus practice that.

more enjoyable, less stress, keeps u interested = learn faster.

scales r only useful for improvising.

i never learnt scales and i can play yngwie malmsteen songs.

thats like15 times faster then sweet child.

just doesnt make sense to me! to learn scales to play a solo?

if u insist to learn scales then why dont u learn to play the solo and go back to ur scales after ?

  2. As a matter of fact, I'm sorry to say that this condition actually is not normal, and you should probably be seeking some professional help sooner than later, as this condition can worsen over time.  I'm worried about you.  Please get help.  Thank you for your question.  If I could be of any further assistance..

  3. That solo is tough, and learning a solo after only playing for 8 months is impossible (unless you're a prodigy). There are so many little things that goes into solos and you're only a beginner. Did your teacher say you could do it when you presented it to him or her? If so, he or she has to help you out by tabbing it out for you and going over everything: you can't figure it out on your own. That's why you're taking lessons, to learn. It doesn't sound like your teacher is doing a good job.

  4. well, SOM solo is kind of tough so you might want to start out a little slower try stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin (A pentatonic minor), or comfortably numb by Pink Floyd(C Pentatonic minor) also just s***w around with the scale and look online for some common licks and then, when you can play all 4 possible octives of the scale with most fingerings you will be able to learn it no problem

  5. if you want buy a guitar  trainer and slow it down until you learn it...  and anyway it is slash so it ain't easy... but learning that scale well ... will help you get it ....

  6. you learn the solo either by ear ( listening to the song and trying to find all the notes on the guitar)  and  You use the scale to help you find the notes that fit

or by Tablature... here if you want it
