  1. go see a doctor

  2. Put ice on it after your run (if you can) for about 10-15minutes 3Xper day.  Take Ibrupropren (advil, motrin, excedrin, etc) This will keep down the swelling and inflammation. Perhaps wear an ankle support brace till you can go to the doctor.  See a pharmacy where they sell ankle braces and ask the pharmacist which one they recommend for your situation.  Use it while you train.

SO many runners neglect to ice their injuries and of course this will create more "off" time in your training.

R(rest)I(ice)C(compress)E(elevate) is the rule of thumb.

    Good luck

  3. I would advise easing off with the running untill the test - a week wont actually make much difference to be honest and the training you have done up untill now will show.

If you want go to the baths and swim instead of running, just to keep a bit fit.

The week before a big race, or time trial I would suggest that you stop running 3 days before to give your body time to recover and to refuel - so really you are missing 4 or 5 days training in 6 weeks, not too much really. If you have to run, then do it every other day for the next 4 days then rest.

Worst thing that could happen would be to have a real injury next week and miss the test completely

  4. I wouldnt be too worried about it but if you want to be safe go and see a doctor
