  1. Jamaica's mountainous terrain tends to produce a wider variety of wind conditions. It will vary from days that are as windy as aruba's, to days that seem 'still'. Note that a given wind condition would not be uniform across the island (except during a storm where it would be 'uniformly windy').

The variations in wind conditions will largely depend on the season, the time of day and the meteorological conditions that exist.

  2. Unlike Aruba which is known for its wind (hence alot of the uniquely bent banyan trees) Jamaica is not as bad. With all islands and beaches, there is wind but you will find it pleasant during the hot days of lounging on the beach. I won't lie, during one of our stays the wind was bad and there were no water sports due to this. That was in February, I have heard it being windy in the summer (hurricane season) months. I have also been to Jamaica in August and can tell you there was very little wind.

  3. Depends on where on the island you will be. Perhaps on the coasts there will be much wind but I work on the south coast of Jamaica and it is not very windy every day. Once in a while when there is some squall we get strong winds... the rest is just some nice sea breeze... nothing too strong.
