  1. its the right time when your trainer says its the right time. the best teacher is the ring. I started sparing the very first day I went. At first he just had me hit someone who is 20 times my size (since it wouldn't have hurt him) and him just blocking to get me used to hitting someone. After a few times of this then it progressed onwards. just using your jab will force you to improve it which is good as your jab will be your most important punch

  2. depends on the level of the other guy.

I was thrown in with a guy several years advanced and got my *** whipped daily but was told "I held my own"....whatever.

I didn't learn anything, was afraid to counter and was in defensive posture like 75% of the time and was afraid to lead and get my stuff off.

bad trainers will put you in with more exp fighters....leave them and get a good trainer that won't.

  3. The only way to learn is to be in the realest situation so im sure he's doing it for ur benefit

  5. Like the other guys said, if your trainer says your ready then you should trust your trainer...I boxed for 15 years and coached for 10 years and look at each boxer differently, I allow some to get into the ring sooner than others.

The first time they spar is usually with me or one of my more experienced fighters. The experienced fighter is there to control the situation and keep the other guy from getting to wild. A good coach should NEVER put two green guys into the ring together, it's asking for trouble.

  6. wel i think its important to always listen to your coach, but ul neva know hw gud ur gona b til u start sparring..!!

but at the same time u dont want to go in to the ring and get your *** kicked, but i think you should.

a boxing career is very short so you want to get the most ring time as you can get
