  1. Have the read The China Study, watch Earthlings, research on vegetarianism/veganism's benefits and nutrition and foods and tell them it is the best thing to do for your health.

  2. My parents were completely against me being vegetarian too. Just don't eat the meat, you can't eat nothing cuz then the only person your hurting is yourself. Just refuse to eat the meat. And you certainly don't have to eat meat while your not around your family. Just stick to what you believe and they'll figure out you're not about to change

  3. Sit down with your parents and explain to them that you are serious about becoming a vegetarian. Do your research and show them that vegetarians can live just as a healthy lifestyle (if not healthier!) than those that eat meat. If it comes down to vegetarianism or not eating at all, don't sacrifice your health. When your family fixes dinners, just eat less portions of meat or just eat the other food that they cook. Your health is most important!

  4. Look, your health is more important than saving the animals you can't save anyway. So for now, eat what you get. You can reduce your meat intake without upsetting your family. And talk to your family about you becoming a vegetarian. Explain it's your personal preference and you are not trying to change them, you're just asking for the right to choose your own path. Then if you can, get a side job so you can buy your own vegetarian foods. If that simply doesn't work, you may have to accept the fact that you have to eat meat for now, at least until you have enough money to feed yourself.

    Good luck.
