the dr just told me I have PCOS and my hubby has lower than average mobility in his sperm...does this mean we are screwed? we been trying for 2 years now. i have to go for some scary x ray thing to look at my tubes, I dont know about them.

when do u get given clomid?

can they get rid of the cysts (only on my left side)?

can we still get pregnant?

do u have any stories of hope to inspire me as im feeling pretty grim about the future prospects of starting a family :(

  1. just listen to me please,i have PCOS too.have lived with it all my life & controlled it with Madison.now i m trying to conceive too.its 20000% possible for woman with PCOS to get pregnant.there is one sitting in front of me with twins right now.its not that easy for us as for others but open ur eyes becz its going to happen for u.i m going to a fertility clinic,u have cysts on only one ovaries but i have it on both.no cysts can not be removed.my Doctor has given me complete medication for sugar becz high level of sugar is what stops us from getting pregnant in PCOS.if u r  overweighthen start doing exercise right away.stop eating sugar & anything sweet.try to eat a very healthy diet that includes vegetables.don't drink juices.but the first step u need to take is find the best fertility specialist in ur city.go with ur husband & i promise he will have all the answers & not hope but a real way to have ur baby.u r not alone in this.PCOS is very common among women now.don'ta hesitate to contact me if u have any questions at all.cheer up now,all the best.

  4. Hi there, I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor prescribed me metformin and said to try and go on a low carb diet as this would also help, after 6 months of taking metformin and loosing a bit of weight I found out I was pregnant!

I now have a beautiful 4 month baby boy! I know it can be very frustrating but please don't give up hope, it will happen when you least expect it to.

  5. Ok just relax, I too have PCOS and some people are able to get pregnant and others are not since you have cysts only on one side the other side still will work everyother month tho. the test you have to have is painless and takes about 10 to 15 mins they take a catheter and stick it in your cervix and inject dye to see if there is a blockage but you have to call the x-ray dept as soon as your period has ended because there is a 9 day window that the test has to be done in also to help the sperm have your husband take a multi vitamin everyday and wear lose fitting underwear The clomid is up to your dr. good luck!!!!!

  6. Yes, it is very possible to get pregnant with PCOS.  PCOS is quite common, and almost all women with PCOS eventually get pregnant.  May need some help and may take sometime.  The good thing is getting it diagnosed, so not wasting time.

My wife has PCOS and got pregnant twice.  First time with injectables/IUI and second time on metformin only.  You should be taking metformin at a minimum to help with the PCOS (it is not a fertility drug). That might dramatically improve fertility / help ovulation.

As for lower motility, that could just be one sample. This varies day to day, sample by sample.  When we did IUI, one time motility was 80%, and other day it was 40%, so there can be a big range.  Even if it is 20%, there is still a good chance to get pregnant.

    Good luck.

  7. I have PCOS and my husband and I are also TTC...I had to try for a year until they would put me on clomid. (Now on 100mg).

Medication can help PCOS but it can not be cured.

Clomid is a very effective drug. I got my progesterone test results today...118 (needed to be a minimum of 16 to show i ovulated)...

There are also LOTS of other rtreatmentsout there!!!! Don't get feeling to down, you are in the early stages!!!!

PCOS runs in my family and they al have at least 1 baby (most of them have 2)....

I know it is hard (been trying for 18months) but try to stay positive!!!

If you need any answers or anything about the next stages please e-mail me!!!

    Good Luck!!!

    BABY DUST!!!!x*x

  8. One of my friends came off the pill after being told she was infertile due to PCOS - she fell pregnant within the month. Thankfully, she and her husband were delighted and already had one child!

    There's hope for everyone.
