  1. Yeah, well my dingy's pretty big too, but I don't brag about it.

  2. Ask for advice at a boatyard or at a dinghy sailing club. It's important to get the right length and thickness or the dinghy won't sail well, and might be dangerous.

Most boat people are friendly, and passionate about boats, and love introducing beginners to a lovely sport, so go say hello and ask for help.

  3. contact the manufacturer of dingy with model number

  4. Uh, and your on the water, come off it no is that daft.

  5. FInd out what kind of hull it is.  There should be a plate with the manufacturer, model and serial number if it was produced commercially.  Then search the Internet for information about it.  Chances are the mast, boom and sail are available new, or you should be able to find a used one.  If there is no plate, ask around at a marina to see if anyone recognizes what kind of boat it is and go from there.  Good luck.

  6. Measure it and go down the shop!
