  1. I  agree it is best to ask ,you not only save yourself the guess work but also you are sure that you are on the right track ,pork is taboo & halal is the permitted meat, but it depends on the individual ,how devout or staunch in his/her beliefs .Fish & vegetarian meals are safe as far as muslims are concerned but then again there is the question of allergies & the like ,so play it safe ask & be sure .

  2. the muslim knows,,,, offer your kitchen ask for him to help.

He may tell you he does not care

    someone here mentioned the symbols

    http://www.kosherhouston.org/symbols.htm

  3. no pork

    but i think that chicken

    any veggies just no pork.

    laney

  4. ask him.

anyway, if he is a devout muslim he will keep "halal".  Halal is the Islamic standard by which meat is slaughtered, etc.

No pork, or anything containing pig.

If you can't get ahold of Halal products, you can buy kosher... they generally follow the same eating standards.

    good luck!

  5. Muslims have most of the same dietary restrictions as Jews--mainly, no pork or pig products at all, no shellfish, no mixing of milk and meat. Some Muslims are strict about eating only Halal meat, but some will eat non-restricted meats even if they aren't labeled Halal. You need to ask him to clarify this; if it's the former, you need to find a Halal market to pick up some meat. If the latter, just buy some meats such as lamb, chicken, and turkey from the grocery store. If you can't find a Halal market anywhere, plan to make a lot of vegetarian dishes--the easiest way to make something Halal is to make it vegetarian!

  6. Firstly.... No pork and anything related to pork .

Secondly ... meats need to be " halal " ..usually there is a certification from shops that sell it or if its prepacked there are signs on the packing ... and best you just ask ?

  7. porkie piggie. lmao.

  8. Ask him.

  9. first consider his nationality but many muslims eat pita bread, hummus, basmati rice or jasminerice, red onions, tomatoes. you can bake or roast chicken (from a halal or kosher market if possible) and serve with the rice, onions, pita bread, and hummus..

  10. yea ask what would you like to eat

  11. Besides the pork, surprised no one so far mentioned alcohol. So don't offer him cocktail drinks, liqueur chocs or red wine stewed beef! Check the ingredients list of what u use to ensure no alcohol inside. As others mentioned, at worse make vegetarian dishes (good for your family too as a time to detox if you're regular carnivores!).

  12. Why don't you just ask him?

    Cheers

  13. Nothing that contains pork...or gelatin. or pork additives, just stick with seafood and poultry as well as beef and u will be fine, hun. Ummmm- it's just basically no pork and lots of salads, maybe buy some olive oil to make your guest feel @ home,as we like to dress our salads with evvo, lemon juice and garlic. Just by you being so concerned, enough to ask this I know your great hospitality would make sand taste great. :)

  14. he is coming, feed him what you eat or have him bring his or hers own food.

  15. The main thing is just no pork and no food with pork additives. The last thing is tricky because alot of things have pork in them. Depending on where you live, you can go to a jewish (kosher) store/section or a muslim (halal) one. They're the same thing a and you can get stuff there.

I would think about chicken dishes and salads.

    10pts!!

  16. Anything Halal unless he has a food allergy. But i would ask him what his diet consists of anyway
