  1. As stated abouve if you are haveing issue with both the power stearing and altinator its proabably a bad tesioner on the serpintine belt. the tesioners are a somewhat common problem in Audis ive always had mine replaced every 60K miles or so

  2. Loose/worn out serpentine belt or faulty belt tensioner would affect both.

  3. Is your power steering hydraulic or electric? If hydraulic, then no, of course not. If electric, yes, if your battery is not charging correctly.

  4. Not necessarily.

It could be the wiring loom going to the power steering is damaged.

Can your battery hold a charge? - A dodgy alternator usually causes the battery to go flat.

  5. possably..if there running on the same drive belt and the alto starts to lock-up[sieze] then yes..

  6. what do you mean by way out?

  7. Check the belts.
