  1. i've got an earring, i've been playing for 20 years, use that tape that doctors use to cover stiches, its about $3

  2. There are a lot of good suggestions here - wanted to mention, most refs will not allow you to play if they know you have an earring that could get torn out.  Clean it, cover it, and clean it again after the game.

  3. Make sure you tackle the other girls around the legs

  4. cover it with a band-aid or else just take it out. Don't believe them when they say it closes up fast because it doesn't.

  5. one word...

    bandaid

  6. Tape it up...wrap tape round it, my friend has an eyebrow pierced and he would just wrap tape round it...but thats partly cause he's got a shaved head...

  7. lose the earring. even with a scrum cap, you can still take a shot, and Pearce your head behind your ear. it won't be fatal, but trust me, you won't like it. I had a team mate who had his nipple pierced. guess what happened.

  8. bandaid power!

  9. put in a stud and tape the lobe, then tape your ears to the sides of your head

  10. if it's a stud maybe u should take it out or u could prick yourself in the side of the head but i rekon a head gear maybe the way to go if you can handle having something on your head for 80 odd minutes

  11. take it out and put a stud in it because rugby players will rip it right out

  12. Just take it out.  That will be best if you get bumped.  After your shower, put it back in.

  13. Well if you wear earings during the game you are asking for them to be ripped...a bit like sporting dreads

  14. Remove whatever is in the piercing (stud, ring, whatever), or likely it and/or a portion of your ear will be torn out/off during play.   This would apply to any sport where there  MAY BE contact, perhaps even your own arm or hand, when tackling or being tackled.   DO NOT THINK any kind of adhesive tape  (Band-aid ?...!!!) will protect you, since when your scalp sweats, your 'bandage' gets wet and slips off, and maybe your jewelry will be stuck to the adhesive and be ripped out at the same time.     Also with your ear(s) covered in tape, how well would you hear during the game?   As a rugby referee of > 40 yrs, before EVERY game: all jewelry off or you don't play,

tie into a handkerchief and put in your pocket, or give to a friend.

  15. If it is flat to your ear dont worry about it,if has catching gold silver etc. sticking out i wouldnt wear them.

  16. Just take it out and tuck it in your bra

  17. take it out or put tape over it, but with the contact of rugby i'd take it out cause you might rip it outta your ear

  18. Definitely take it out during games.  It might be annoying, but it sure beats your lobe getting ripped in half off a tackle.  Don't worry, piercings take weeks to heal up, the 2-3 hours of a rugby game won't be long enough to clog it up.

For the first week or two though, bring some hydrogen peroxide or alcohol-based astringent to wash it out after the game, else the bacteria from the soil might make it infected.

  19. cover it up with a bandaid

  20. obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed.

you need to take out the piercing. if it gets knocked you are looking at infections and tears in your lobe. and that just isn't s**y, now is it? Wait until off season to put holes in your body, that way thy can heal correctly. and even THEN you should not wear piercings while playing contact sports.

  21. take it out

  22. Take the ring or stud out or it will be ripped or bitten out.
