Ive had 8 excisions (teeth out) and another 2 scheduled before I can get braces. Is this normal?

In 05 I had two teeth out

In 07 I had six teeth out

I'm scheduled to have two more out in late 08/early 09

Then I can get braces

IS THIS NORMAL???

If you have impacted teeth yes.  Whether that's normal or not, I have answer with this, there really isn't a norm when it comes to the teeth and such, so I wouldn't worry about it, unless you don't have impacted teeth.  Then I'd be asking the question, WHY?

yah doctors do that to have some space to starighten you teeth...but sometimes they pull out to many teeth and can't fill in the space. They did the same thing to me now i have a teeth gap sort of thing

extractions are pretty normal, but 10 is more than most people get out. everyone i know (including me), needed 2-4 out for braces.

yes dont stress... this is completely normal :>

i would say that you have crooked teeth where there is lots of crowding and over/underlaping by needing ten teeth out..

your lucky that they have been in timed intervals as thjis has given you mouth time to recover...which was a good move by your orthodontist  and you didnt get heaps out at once:> but if you dont have crooked or over crowded then this is not good... but yer i cannot see you.. but generally 3/4 of all orthodontic treatment includes extractions so just make sure you look after your teeth :> and everything will go smoothly... then you will get braces and have the best smile when they come off

Ive heard 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom and all wisdom teeth out is normal but more then that what the?

Taking out teeth changes your face shape, theres other ways to make room for teeth like arch expanders. You should go ask another orthodontist and make sure its orthodontist not dentist!

My daughter had 11 teeth pulled out all on the same day before she could get her braces... It's pretty normal especially if they need the room to line up the teeth...
