  1. I was going through that, sometimes I had a UTI and sometimes I would test negative. I stopped getting the relief that used to come from an antibiotic. When I tested negative the doctor implied that it was in my head..when I tested positive the doctor implied that I was bringing them on myself through bad habits. It was taking over my life. I finally found a good Urologist and he knew what was wrong with me from the first visit, he recommended urethral dilatation and confirmed through that procedure that I had a narrow urethra (it was not my fault I was getting UTI's). I had over a year of feeling normal again and UTI free, then they came back but the doctor warned me this would happen and I would probably need to have this procedure done for the rest of my life. The procedure hurts but it's over quick, I was not looking forward to having it again but I was looking forward to the relief that followed..but it did not come. At my follow up visit I told the doctor how very distressed and disappointed I was that the feeling was still there, he told me I have Interstitial Cystitis, it is chronic and the only thing that I can do is avoid foods that might aggravate it. I don't know if this is what's happening to you but you deserve a doctor to take you seriously because you are not imagining it. There are other reasons for burning sensations including yeast infections, I usually just go ahead and use a one day treatment every time I finish an antibiotic just to cover all my bases. I will probably always have to have the dilatation because I do not want to become antibiotic resistant and I always practice all the do's and don'ts for avoiding UTI's since I am at such high risk. I hope this was helpful, good luck.

  2. does it burn during s*x? do you have very painful periods? If so maybe endometriosis. I had this it will not show up in a ultrasound though. They have to do surgery to fing it.

  3. Are you seeing a urologist? And has any one consider interstitial Cystitis (painful bladder syndrome ) ? http://www.ic-network.com/
