Ive heard that NY and other places are going to melt away and it is caused by global warming. Is this totally true? Im kind of afraid of this. How is it possible? When does this come true? Would the ground litterally melt?

  1. Yes yes we are all going to die soon...so everyone must stop breathing to help fight global warming...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

  2. Now that would certainly lower the crime rate!!!

  3. Global warming is a theory.  Al Gore did not invent the internet, but he did invent global warming.

  4. If the surface temperature of the earth reaches 3000 degrees f, it could, that is about the melting point of dirt.

If it was that hot I think I would be long past caring.

  5. When you say NY, are you referring to New York? If so, NY is not a glacier. What you need to understand is that the glaciers have been melting at the same relative rate for the last 10,000 years. Yes the ocean may rise, or it may fall, but it will take hundreds or thousands of years. The current rate of sea level rise is maybe 3mm. This is about the same height as a DVD disk, so you will not be swamped while lying on the beach. Ignore any alarmist information you see on TV, as they are lies. Commons sense says that the climate has been warmer (it has a recently as a few hundred years ago) and nothing catastrophic happened then. Actually, man kind flourishes when the climate is warmer. The cold periods are when we have a difficult time.

Look at this site. Notice how much the glaciers have melted in the last 10,000 years or so. We can not stop or control them. They will expand or contract whether we are here or not.

By the way, after looking at the link, would you rather live when most of North America is covered in a sheet of ice a mile thick, or in the current day when we enjoy warmer climate?

  6. I'm sorry to see that you have fallen for all the hysteria out there.....in addition to some good answers you've gotten think about this......

You know Al Gore and the IPCC got the Nobel Prize for sounding the alarm on global warming......

the IPCC is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change......hundreds of top scientists from all over the worlds.......

their conclusion: Temperatures might..MIGHT......in the worst case instance rise

    One degree

    in one hundred years

the Seas in the worst case might rise

    two feet

    in one hundred years.

    This is their science,,not mine.

    Still worried?

  7. Yes, its true. S**t me cant c monitor it melted..now a hand melted sorry

  8. no where you getting this from???

  9. Al Gore and his gang are getting rich $$ on all the fear that they can make up

  10. The coastal regions are not going to "melt away."  It's the icepacks in the poles that are melting and swelling the oceans.  Speak to anyone who lives by shores and they will tell you that the ground is getting washes into the ocean.

  11. lol no, ice from Greenland and Antarctica might melt and put NYC mostly underwater, but this is decades if not centuries away from happening

Also, Al Gore's movie is actually quite accurate. He didnt invent any of the science in it, he merely made a movie to spread knowledge that was already available.
