if it is...is it safe to say that I should go back to smoking it first hand instead of letting my bf subject me second hand smoke...he is a very heavy smoker...like 1-2 packs a day. I have to tie a scarf around my face cause it bothers me so much. But he does not fell guilty for smoking so much around me because when I'm having a drink or I'm under the influence of sedatives I always ask to take a drag from his cigarette...but that's only like 6 or 7 puffs a month with equals to less than one cigarette.

  1. You should go ahead and smoke as much as you like. Not because it is safer for you, but because it is what you really want to do. Face it, smoking is fun, and it is something you could enjoy with your boyfriend.

Another thing - heavy smoking is more than 50 cigarettes a day. Very heavy smoking is more than 70. Your boyfriend is a moderate smoker, at best.

  2. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. While second hand smoke is bad for you, it cannot even compare to first hand smoke. According to the studies I have seen, second hand smoke generally doesn't cause lung cancer. Also, first hand smoke fills your lungs with black tar, ruins the proteins in your b*****s that keep them firm, ruins your teeth and gums, and ruins your skin and causes wrinkles. Stay away from first hand smoking at all costs.

  3. when it comes from the lit end of a cigarette, it hasnt been sucked thru that wonderful "filter" at the end.. so thus the theory would be that all the bad stuff isnt being filtered out...but is it really when someone smokes filtered cigs?? come on
