this poem i wrote about a friend i am very close to. she lives in Chicago, i live in florida (explaining the north part)
its pretty clear what the poems about.
tell me what you think.
I heard that sound today
The one they say
Could echo, even in an empty field
And back into and through your mind
I heard that sound today
The one the say
Would bring love, sorrow
Hate and fear
All intertwined
Yes, I've heard that sound
Coming from a northern wind
That wrestled with the river
It came and went within an hour
But still left with me a shiver
It enters my mind
When I shut my eyes
An attempt to make it dissipate
It is over now, yet I somehow
Still hear this sound I hate
It will continue to echo
As I'm told by my morals
Until her tears I can physically dry
I heard the worst sound in the world today
For on this day, I heard her cry
