I've just bought a microwave/grill/convection

i've just bought a microwave/grill/convection oven combi but the manal isnt very comprehensive.i'm not sure what i can use to cook in with the convection oven function.can i use metal in there? eg. can i cook a pie in the silver foil dish it comes in?
