Ive never been on a Cruise..I would like to go on a two week cruise some time.. Has any of you ever been?

on one ...Are they good fun or would you be Bored after a while..

I have been on a 70 day cruise before, and it was very different from a 7 or 9 day cruise...we went to to many stops, spent so much money, and there were a lot of old retired people onbaord...the ship was very small compared to others i have been on: celebrity century, disney wonder, and celebrity horizon, and didn't have as much to do on board...i personally dont think that its worth it...the food was ok to average, and the cruise itself was very expensive...i would much rather go on a couple maybe 9 or 14 day cruise instead of a 70 day one...hope this answers your question, and feel free to send me a message if you have any questions...

Wow!  Two weeks!  Wish I could afford that....Maybe I'll sneak away in your suit cases, just kidding.....I think you would have a blast.  I don't think one week was enough, especially with all the excursions to choose from.  I don't think I have to say it, but I will anyway....Have a Great Time!

My mother-in-law goes on cruises all the time. However, she does do 'mini-cruises' to see if she would like a new ship or route, etc.  These 'taster' cruises can be for a weekend and most of the major cruise companies offer them.  So, you might like to try the whole cruise thing out before you commit to a fortnight with very old people like my mother-in-law who is 82.

yes, quite a few. We are going on a cruise to Hawaii (15 days) in March,08. They are well worth the money. You see alot and also good shows onboard. The food is usually very good. A 2 week cruise is nice. We go out of New york since we can just take the bus to Port authority and catch a cab from there to the pier for only $5. You'll defenitely enjoy it. To me, the bigger the ship, the better. Have fun and book it. Good luck! Jim

I have been on Thomson and Island cruises, both for a week. I think if you are going for 2 weeks you would be better to pick a cruise line with more facilities on board, unless you have a lot of money to spend on coach trips, as at a lot of the ports you either dock miles from the town, or there is nothing to see in that actual place, and you are expected to go on a trip (e.g. Civitavecchia - for Rome). The smaller cruise ships have a limited range of stuff to do if you are staying on board.

I have been on a couple of 2 week cruises and about 4 one week cruises. Once you go you will wish you could go every year. There is always plenty to do. There are sports, games, lectures, dances, food, food, food, shows, swimming, port tours. It never ends.

2 weeks is WAY TOO LONG or a cruise...you will get tired and wish you only took it for at  most   one week.

Great fun!  Lots of activities and entertainment.  Non-stop food and great service.  I like Princess the best but Carnival is good, too.

I have been on several 12 to 14 day cruises; to the Mediterranean for 12 days, to the Panama Canal for 12 days, to the Souther Caribbean for 12 days and to the Baltic for 14 days.   What I found was that I not only did not get tired or bored but enjoyed having the extra days to relax and recover from tours done on many days.  When we did the Med we were up 2 or 3 days in a row at 6:00 Am to get dressed and breakfast before all day tours which were 8 hours.  So then after three long days it was nice to have a couple days at sea when we could just enjoy the ship.

We also like to use the gym facilities on ships so a normal part of our cruise routine is to go walk and go to the gym for about an hour (you need to do that because they feed you to death).  And there are so many activities on ship each day that you do not get bored.

What I do usually get tired of is the cruise director bouncing up and down on stage before the shows trying to whip up enthusiasm in the show room.  Telling corny jokes and trying to make everyone think they are having a good time.  I don't need that.

Cruises are one of THE best vacations you can take. Once you are on ship the staff caters to you, its whatever you want. There is something to do all day every day. Each day of your cruise you will receive in your cabin a "newsletter" listing the time, place and particulars of everything happening for you on ship. There are generally activities like demonstrations of ice carvings, napkin folding and towel folding, and cooking demonstrations.  There may be organized games and other activities around the pools. In the evenings there are generally shows, one show for those with an early dinner seating and another (same show) for those who eat late. There is always food available. Usually there is a place in ship where you can go get something. Or, you can always just pick up the phone in your cabin and order from the room service menu (food is free). If you want, you can order breakfast room service.

All ships have a casino with slots and table games. Ships have movie theaters, generally small but nice, and you can also see movies in your room. Princess cruise line has an outdoor movie theater on some of its ships for movies under the stars.They have ATM’s and a purser’s desk where you can cash a check or exchange currency if you need to.  There is a tour and activities desk so you can schedule land tours and activities.

Ships have free morning exercise programs, stretching and walking, etc, and on some you can pay for other things like Spinning. All cruise ships have gyms so you can go workout, usually any time from 6:00 AM to late at night. There is usually a walking/running track on one of the decks also. Some ships leave the gym open all night. They call the gyms Spa because they do promote getting pampered with things like wraps and massages with aroma therapy. They will also generally have a beauty salon to do hair and nails.

There are always pools. Some ships have more than one and the newer ships generally have an indoor pool as well as outdoor ones and all of these have hot tubs. There is generally a basketball court on the top deck, a place for scuffle board, and a mini-golf course. The newer Royal Caribbean ships have a rock climbing wall and the newest one has a pool for water surfing.

There are places on ships to play cards and board games, and the cards and games are provided. If you want to just sit and read, there’s a library where you can bring your books or select one from the shelf.  Ships have internet cafes and some offer WIFI if you bring your prefer to use your computer in your cabin (some ships offer notebooks for rent).  There are cocktail lounges that feature a variety of music.  Some have a piano bar with jazz. There is usually a disco that starts after 10:00 PM each night and last until everyone leave.  On certain days ships will have special activities like a chocolate lovers buffet, or a midnight deck party .      

So if you are bored its because you want to be.

Not many people say they don't enjoy a cruise but I didn't. I would rather travel by car or jet any day. I was a bit seasick the entire time. I didn't realise that I was until I had "sea legs" upon our return. I also felt so tired every eve. at 9:00P(that is early for me to go to bed). Our cruise ship was crowded,had lots of children.. It was impossible to get a lawn chair by the pool since people woke up early,put books on them to "reserve" them for the day. We waited in lines to eat. The food was okay but after awhile you feel like a pig if you keep eating and not exercising. The entertainment was average. It was fun to play the slot machines but the room was filled with a lot of smokers. The ship stopped at a couple ports which I loved but we only had a few hours at each stop before we had to return. Make sure you read the fine print about insurance,buying drinks,etc. The are a big business and will try to get your money. We took a Carnival Cruise line. I hear the Cruise to Alaska is amazing. I hope this doesn't scare you from investigating a cruise for yourself. It just isn't my choice for the best way to travel. Enjoy yourself on vacation!!!

There are very different kinds of cruise travel, and different people like different kinds.

Personally, I like river cruises and small ship specialty cruises.  Ones where you spend a lot of time on shore, and even when you're under way, there's something to see besides empty ocean.

To me, going on a big cruise ship that spends a lot of time at sea, and stops for brief and not very informative port visits is a waste of money.  You may as well go to Vegas and put up a picture of an ocean in your hotel room.  Still, lots of people like doing that.  They like the food, the people, and the fact that you get offered lots of activities.

Also, my husband and I hate to be forced to dress up, and we won't go on a cruise that requires evening dress and maybe even a costume ball outfit.  (Again, you may be one of the people that loves just that part --I'm just suggesting you think about these things.)

So, first figure out what you like to do -- see new places, eat lots of food, gamble, party, dress up or not -- and check out cruises on the internet.  They are very different, and you could get really sick of the wrong kind in two weeks.

Oh my gosh when i went on a cruise that was the best week of my life. I had so much fun. If youre going with a group its alot of fun but if you are going by yourself its still fun because there are alot of other people that are looking for someone to hang out with. And plus there is nonstop food. Someone makes your bed and cleans your room everyday. there are pools clubs arcades ice skating rinks  rock climbing walls shops and theartere where you can watch broadway shows.

We've just come back from our fourth cruise.  We've been on three on the Thomson Spirit, and this one was with Royal Caribbean. Even though this ship was huge, with everything on board you could think of, we still prefer the smaller, friendlier Spirit.

Several times - and that means I haven't been bored!

Pick a cruise line with the kind of entertainment you like though: some feature live musical shows, others only singers and musicians, and still others have either classical or jazz recitals. I expect the really big ships can offer a variety in the same cruise; but then are you the sort of person that likes to be among a couple of thousand others, or do you prefer a smaller ship?

Also, decide whether your main interest is the cruise ship itself, or the opportunity to visit lots of different places without changing hotel rooms. If it's the latter, pick a cruise with not too many days "at sea".

theres always alot of things to do. there are pools to swim in, movies to watch, gambling, restaurants, exploring the ship, going to different parts of the world, Meeting people,  

you could try a shorter cruise to see if you liked it.  maybe one close to your home so you don't have to fly. Good luck.

I saw 2 water funnels on my cruise (ok, I was 9 and spent a lot of time in the lift, but hey).

A water funnel is like a whirlwind, but at sea and is when the sky takes water from the sea, it's very impressive.

The ships captain got as close as he could and EVERYONE was on deck to watch as they are very rare, he said a sailor can live his life at sea and never see one, let alone 2 together.

Regardless of that, and my young age at the time, I recommend a cruise.
