  1. I think you'll find benefit from fartlek training, run for 2 mintues, walk for 30 seconds. You'll gradually improve and you wont overdo it.

Thats a practical tip, a motivational tip would be train with a friend or colleague etc. This way you'll be committed to training and hopefully will enjoy it more.

    All the best.

  2. try this website.

    http://www.runnersworld.com/cda/smartcoa...

Type in all the information it asks for and make it 10k for distance and it will come up with a running scedule for you thay will prepare you for the race. The max it goes is 16 weeks. So you will probally need to make 2.

    good luck

  3. do the bleep test........search it on google, its tough

  4. Well, there's a magazine called "Zest" and it has a book "Running made easy".

Here's a link to training to run the 5K from reebok

  5. If you are really just starting, start out running (or jogging - not too fast - don't sprint or you may damage soft tissue) until you feel like you HAVE to stop.  Walk until your respiration is close to normal, and you feel ready to run again.  Repeat this for  a total of 20 or 30 minutes daily (3 to 6 days a week), until you can run for 30 consecutive minutes.  You can easily run in a 10k within 6 months, but maybe not very comnpetitively, unless you are already fit from another sport and do not have weight issues.

  6. i dont think it will take 6 months to run 10k. just take baby steps.
