the other day i was laying on the sofa reading a book and i let my two year old come lay with me. he fell asleep and i noticed his breathing was a little odd. it was all heavy like he just ran a marathon, and then it just stopped and was normal, and then it was almost like he held his breath for 3 seconds, and it got all heavy again. what could this be? i havent noticed this before, but then again i never actually "examined" him sleeping

  1. He's perfectly fine. People tend to breathe weird while sleeping.

  2. I would keep an eye on his breathing patterns, but not be too worried. If he has up to 20 seconds of these apneic episodes, I would take him to the pediatrician and possibly get an apnea monitor.

  3. puberty, nocturnal emissions.

please hold off on the breast leche, mam

  4. Everyone goes through different stages of sleep.  Children go through these changes even faster than adults.  It is possible that he was going through the different stages.  If he was in his dream state, it may be due to a dream that he was having.  I don't think there is anything to worry about.
