I've owned this camera Nikon

Question

I've owned this camera Nikon F65 for a few years and it was working perfectly, but I haven't used it for the past year or so and now it just stopped working! I put fresh batteries in, lights come on and all functions are displayed ok, but the shutter isn't releasing and it isn't taking any pictures as if all the functions are disabled, no use pressing the shutter as nothing happens.I'd really appreciate your advice on this matter, thanks!
