Ive read that chewing on ginger root can get rid of sore throats for singers, but how do i chew it?

i have ginger root but how do i cut it so i can chew it?Is this even true?

  1. Shredded ginger root in soybean oil is a favorite condiment used by the Chinese for broiled chicken. The oil takes away much of the hot flavor and it tastes absolutely delicious.


  2. I haven't heard of this but, my mother swore that ginger root tea was the best thing for a sore throat. You add a sliced chunk of the root to about four cups of water and boil you are making a decoction not an infusion. Let it boil until it smells wonderful and strong. Drink it with honey and your throat should feel better soon.

  3. Using a sharp knife  peel the ginger root , then slice off a small piece and chew it. (I slice it very thin when I take it).  You don't need to swallow the pulp, just spit it out.  It's the juice from it that you need. It has a hot bite to it, so be prepared, but it's not bad after the first time.  It is also very good for upset tummys.
