How many laps (25meter pool - half olympic) should i be doing?

  1. Most competitive swimmers don't look exactly like the ones that are shown on T.V. Since they are the best of the best, they are also the most muscular. However, if you swim regularly your body will look something like the "junior" version of theirs. Meaning your muscles won't be as defined or as large as theirs are, but they will be noticeable.

    To really get your muscles huge and defined, you need to do weightlifting and strength training in addition swimming.

    As for how much swimming you should be doing? It's a good goal to start with 1500m every time you go (60 lengths in your pool). Eventually work up to 3,000-4,000m. That's kind of the minimum you need to maintain good swimming fitness and strength.


  2. practice doing laps with all of the storkes you know

    freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, scissor, backstroke, etc.
