The Bayern Munich striker is looking forward to play against his former side, Hamburg, this weekend.
The Croatian international spent two years at Imtech Arena and scored 29 times in 78 Bundesliga appearances, before joining Bayern Munich in winter transfer window in 2009. The player has fallen down the pecking order of strikers
at Allianz Arena and Mario Gomez plays as the lone striker upfront.
Olic claimed that he is eager to face his former side in Saturday’s league fixture as he looks to make a comeback in to the first team. The striker admitted that the team cannot afford to drop any more points  in the future games
as Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are right on their heels.
The Croatian added that he is fully fit and has shown with his performances in the past few games that he can score goals. The player added that he will certainly take his chances and wants to be a regular part of the first team.

“I'm looking forward to going back to Hamburg. There’s always a special atmosphere there, and I think it's one of the best stadiums in the Bundesliga. We're currently trying to set off on a winning run. I've demonstrated I'm on
good form. I try and put my case to the coach in every training session, so he knows he can rely on me,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, manager Jupp Heynckes has expressed his delight on the player’s progress and insisted that Olic works very hard in training. He added that the Croatian will definitely be a direct replacement to Mario Gomez if
the latter misses out. However, he stressed that Gomez’s current form will surely make things difficult for Olic.
“I'm really impressed at the way he's rebuilt his physical strength and worked very hard to get back up to speed. If Mario Gomez ever has to miss a match, Ivi can take over, I have no qualms about that at all,” he concluded.
