The out-of-favour Bayern Munich striker has confirmed that he will not be moving out of the club until the end of his contract which expires in June.
Bayern Munich striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399, has decided against leaving Bayern Munich in the January transfer window, and has confirmed of his stay at Allianz Arena until June 2012.
The unsettled striker recently expressed his desire to leave the Bavarian giants in the January transfer window, after failing to impress Jupp Heynckes. Olic has had a frustrating campaign thus far, and has found first-team opportunities
hard to come by.
Despite an impressive 2010/11 season, the Croatian international has fallen down the pecking order of strikers at Allianz-Arena. Mario Gomez, Thomas Muller and Nils Petersen are all preferred ahead of the former Hamburg star.
However, Heynckes has made it clear that none of his players are for sale in the January transfer window, and they will not accept an offer for anyone.
While talking to Sportske Novosti, the 32-year-old further added:
"They [Bayern Munich] say they are relying on me and that selling me is not an option. I had told them I'd wanted to go and had some great offers but they didn't want to discuss it. They even told me I would be punished if I continued
to talk about leaving."
Olic has witnessed a tough time since he landed at Allianz-Arena in 2009. The striker has scored 12 goals in 43 appearances during his two-year stay at Allianz Arena thus far. The 32-year-old was a catalyst in his team’s success
in the 2009/10 Bundesliga triumph, and helped them finish as runners-up in the UEFA Champions League.
The Croatian has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe; Galatasaray, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 are all keen to sign him.
Lazio are believed to be lining him up as a replacement for unsettled Djibril Cisse, who has failed to live up to expectations at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. For his part, the striker has expressed delight at interest from the
Italian side, and recently admitted that he will consider a move to Serie A.
Olic is eyeing a reunion with his former Bayern teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049, who has enjoyed great success since joining Edy Reja’s side in the summer transfer window.
