Ivory Coast striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salomon-Kalou-c32266 declares support for Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti
Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou declared his support for Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti, after reports suggested that he was most likely facing a Stamford Bridge exit at the end of the season. The Italian manager failed to lead his side to any silverware this
season, in a particularly disappointing season which saw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 suffer their worst slump in over 15 years.
This will be the first time Chelsea will end a season without a trophy since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took charge of the club. That will be reason enough for the Blues owner to replace Ancelotti, even though the former AC Milan boss led the Blues
to their first ever double only last season, his first season with the London side.
Even though there are still six games remaining this season, a host of managers have already been linked with the hot-seat at Stamford Bridge. Former Chelsea managers Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink have been linked with a return, while Frank Rijkaard, Pep
Guardiola, Marcello Lippi and Harry Redknapp have also been talked about recently.
Most Chelsea players, including Kalou, have continued their support for Ancelotti and have claimed the Italian is not to blame for Chelsea's poor season. After being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals by Premier League rivals Manchester
United, Chelsea got back on track against West Brom over the weekend.
Kalou’s fellow countryman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 scored shortly after to earn their side a 3-1 win over the hosts. Their brilliant display successfully put an end to Roy Hodgson’s
unbeaten run with West Brom and gave them crucial points, securing their place in the top three of the Premier League table.
Kalou said while speaking to reporters, “The main concern is we are together as a team. We win as a team, we lose as a team, and in this game we showed good character, the real face of Chelsea. It is the Chelsea everyone wants to see, a team that goes out
on the pitch and plays hard, that plays with each other.”
The Ivorian said Ancelotti had his full support and insisted he did not believe the lack of silverware was the manager’s fault. He continued, “We showed that we're fighting for ourselves, for the team, also for the manager. It would be easy to point to someone
and say it's his fault. The game is about the squad, and everyone has to be concerned about that.”
The 25-year-old striker stressed on the importance of teamwork and insisted it had helped them get a good result on Saturday. Kalou revealed the Blues were trying hard to maintain their spot in the top three in order to qualify for the Champions League next
season and had given their best to show respect for the travelling fans.
