Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Bellamy-c9471, and manager Malky Mackay will be cognizant of the winger’s exceptional talent.
The 32-year old was loaned out to the Bluebirds in August 2010 for a one-year spell. In total, he capped 35 appearances for his home town club in all competitions and netted11 goals.
Upon completing his stipulated stint at Cardiff, Bellamy appeared in the last year summer transfer market as a free agent, having served out his contract with the Reds. However, the forward penned a new deal with Liverpool on the transfer deadline, citing
the reason that he wanted to work alongside the Kop legend and then Reds manager, Kenny Dalglish.
Since his return to Anfield, the Welsh footballer represented the Merseyside club in 33 matches last season and fired 9 goals.
With Cardiff having recently stepped up their efforts in a bid to land Bellamy to the Cardiff City Stadium, Roberts insisted that the Bluebirds boss Mackay, who has played alongside the forward, with be fully aware of his potential and the impact that he
can make for the Welsh club.
While talking to reporters, he said: “They were good friends but they did fall out as well as players tend to do, especially in training. But Malky knows what Craig brings.”
“He knows his strengths, he knows he can put demands on other players and get the best out of other players around him.”
Cardiff City came close of making a return to the top division of English football, losing out to the recently promoted West Ham United 5-0 in the play-offs. The defeat meant that they will have to compete for at least another season in the championship.
As the Bluebirds eye promotion to the Premier League in 2013, Roberts felt that under the dynamic management of Mackay coupled with the presence of Bellamy, they will be in with a serious chance of running away with the championship title.
He added, “Craig knew Malky had great experience at Celtic, a massive club… If they can lure Craig away from Liverpool it would be a tremendous signing for Cardiff City and a sign of things to come I'm sure.”
He further said that after spending a successful one year spell with the second tier team, which also saw him get the captain’s armband, the Liverpool player would himself fancy a move to Cardiff and would like to end his career in his home town.
Whether the proposed move manages to transpire or not will rely heavily on what Cardiff is willing to offer Liverpool for the player.
