Hi, there is a highway from chennai to trichy. but the road is not good. I would suggest an alternate route

Chennai - Pondicherry - cuddalore - Chidambaram - Mailaduthurai - Kumbakonam. distance around 300Kms. Takes around 5 to 6 hrs. Is it to visit Navagraha temples? Enjoy the trip. Let me know if you need more tips abt the route in any way.

Have you visited Gangaikondacholapuram and Dharasuram on the way?  Are they worth visiting?  Please give more details about these places. Thanks
