Iziane Castro Marques, Taj McWilliams-Franklin: WNBA player ratings from Game-2 of Conference Finals
On Sunday, September 25, 2011, in the game-2 of the Conference Finals, Indiana Fever lost out to Atlanta Dream to square the series in the East while in the Western Conference; Minnesota Lynx continued to march towards the WNBA title, sweeping Phoenix Mercury on the way to the finals.
Here is an overview of some of the brilliant performances on the night:
Atlanta Dream vs. Indiana Fever
Iziane Castro Marques
Iziane Castro Marques played her best game of this season and chipped in 30 points in Atlanta Dream’s 94-77 win over Indiana Fever, tying the best-of-three Eastern Conference Finals series at one game each. The veteran centre replaced Brazilian Erika de Souza in the starting line-up and scored 17 of her points in the crucial second half of the game.  
Marques, who was an All-Star last season with an average of nearly 17 points per game, also grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists. The player shot 13 for 22 from the field, including 2 for 5 from three-point range.
Angel McCoughtry
After an average performance in their previous defeat to Indiana, Angel McCoughtry came up with a terrific performance this time around.  The 25-year-old All-Star scored 27 points, pulled down four rebounds, dished out four assists and stole the ball four times. The St. Frances Academy’s product finished the night on an 11 for 23 shooting from the floor and 4 for 6 from free throw line.
Lindsey Harding
Lindsey Harding ended the game with 10 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals. The 5 ft 8 in guard was 4 for 10 from the field.
Katie Douglas
Katie Douglas headed Fever with 25 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals. The four-time WNBA All-Star knocked down 8 for 15 from the floor, 5 for 6 from three-point range and 4 for 4 from free throw line.
Minnesota Lynx vs. Phoenix Mercury
Taj McWilliams-Franklin
At the US Airways Center, Taj McWilliams-Franklin racked up a season-best 21 points in Minnesota Lynx’s 103-86 win over the Phoenix Mercury. She also grabbed six rebounds and dealt out seven assists, going 8 for 14 from the floor and 5 for 6 from the line.
Maya Moore
Maya Moore also contributed 21 points as Minnesota advanced to the Women’s National Basketball Association Finals for the first time in franchise history. Moore pulled down seven rebounds, dished out five assists and went 7 for 10 from the field, including 6 for 8 from downtown.
DeWanna Bonner
DeWanna Bonner recorded a double-double in the loss, scoring a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds. The 24-year-old guard forward was 7 for 16 from the floor and a perfect 6 from the line.
Diana Taurasi
Mercury’s guard Diana Taurasi also chipped in with 22 points in the losing effort. She dished out five assists and ended the game on an 8 for 18 shooting from the floor and 4 for 4 from free throw line.
