Iztok Utrosa trounces Yaroslav Egerev in first round showdown at Russia Open Grand Prix 2012
Slovenia’s upcoming player Iztok Utrosa stamped his supremacy on court when he trounced Russia’s Yaroslav Egerev in first round showdown in Men’s Singles category at Russia Open Grand Prix 2012 on Wednesday, June 27, at Vladivostok, Russia.
The in-form Slovenian displayed his remarkable skills while playing in his opening match of the tournament and outclassed his local opponent without showing him any mercy in the whole battle.
Utrosa was at his best as he maintained his speed at the highest level throughout the fight and registered a staggering victory over his Russian challenger by ending the contest in straight games with a tremendous margin on the board.
On the other hand, Egerev tried to play at his best in opening set but failed to dominate the pace of rallies in the second half and lost it. He could not match the skills and speed of his Slovenian opponent in the second set and lost the battle without

The confused Egerev could only manage to play at his best in opening rallies of first set but he lost his control afterwards and remained trailing behind his in-form opponent.
In the meanwhile, Utrosa played with precision and controlled the pace of rallies with an impressive craft. He was leading the opening set with a comfortable margin of 11-7.
After the 60-second break, the Slovenian continued his attacking play without dropping down the speed of rallies and eventually won the set with a 21-15 score on the board.
In the second game of this battle, Utrosa stunned his local opponent by playing flawless badminton in opening rallies as his smashes landed in gaps and he managed a phenomenal lead of 11-4 until the mid-game interval.
After the one-minute break, Utrosa continued putting up remarkable show and he did not let his Russian opponent to fight back at any stage.
The Slovenian remained successful in grabbing the second game easily with a one-sided 21-11 score on the board.
The in-form Utrosa knocked out Egerev in Men’s Singles first round in a commanding fashion by a huge margin of 21-15 and 21-11.
