  1. Seville is probably the largest city to visit, filled with moorish architecture such as the minaret of La Giralda, the gothic cathedral, and has generally laid back locals (compared to Madrid).  If travelling with a partner, you may want to try a carriage ride through Parque de Maria Luisa and Plaza de Espana - a little touristy but would be worth it.  Or take one of teh double-deck guided tours on your first day to get an overview of the city and you can decided later which ones you want to check in detail.  Take a river cruise down the Guadalquivir, and cross over the Triana bridge to get great ceramics.

Don's miss out on the tapas. The city is credited with their invention and has more than a thousand bars where the choice of food, is virtually unlimited, from seafood to ham and sausage, from vegetable to cheese. The Sevillians actually make a meal of them, moving from bar to bar and trying one dish at a time.

In the Santa Cruz quarter, try Bar Giralda, Modesto, Las Teresas and Casa Robles.

In Triana, El Kiosco de las Flores, Casa Cuesta and Bodeguita Sanlúcar. In Santa Catalina, El Rinconcillo, El Bacalao and Quitapesares (Bar Peregill).

And don't forget to catch a Flamenco performance!

Try Cordoba for picturesque and winding narrow streets, colourful flower pots hanging on the walls of whitewashed homes.  Near the square, there is a great outdoor cafe, try their gazpacho, perfect on a hot afternoon.  Must see is La Mezquita with unrivaled moorish architecture and artefacts.  Check out also the Roman ruins n the North-East of the town, there are more ruins close to the Tower of Malmuerte.

You have to try and see the Alhambra in Granada, and the beaches of Malaga if you have the time.

  2. The Costa Del Sol - Which for many conjures up visions of suntanned bodies on the beach, luxurious hotels set in tropical gardens, golfing and glitzy marinas lined with millionaires' yachts, lively restaurants and swinging discos - in other words, the high life see http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/Costa_d... for more details

  3. Visit the town of Mijas.... Fantastic and not that too far from the awful tourist resorts of the costa del sol.  This place is a perfect place to go in the early evening. Enjoy!

  4. Andalusia is a VERY large area

To recommend an eating house is the best way to make enemies!

Personally I like El Kiosco at Lagos on the OLD N340 coast road between Nerja and Torre Del Mar

  5. Get to WH Smiths and can the tourist guides all info can be found there
