Question:

I’m being sued for an accident I was involved in?

I was in an accident in Dec. of 2004, I'm being sued by the other party involved. If he is awarded punitive damages I'm told I will have to pay them. What can they do to collect. I don't own a home and the two vehicles I have still have allot owed on them. Can they garnish my wages? Take the vehicles and continue to have me pay? Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Your insurance company has to pay.

    Good luck

  2. If you have insurance to cover you, they will pay it. You don't explain the accident so it's difficult to make any assumptions. If you don't have insurance then (depending on the amount you'll be expected to pay) you may have to file for bankruptcy. Then any money you make after that will go to whomever you owe money until it is paid off. Bankruptcy is not a good route though.

You may be forced to get a loan to pay the costs. It will completely depend, speak to a lawyer, they will be able to give you proper advice.

    Good Luck
