J R Suryanaga’s women excel in the final of the Indonesian Badminton League – Badminton News
In the final team event match of the Indonesian Badminton League 2011, the women players of the J R Suryanaga won their sixth consecutive title by beating J R Jakarta on Friday, February 25, at DBL arena in Surabaya, Indonesia.
The Suryanaga players delivered a terrific performance as they clinched the final showdown with a considerable margin of 3-0.
In the opening battle of the final team event match, Dutch shuttler, Yao Jie from Suryanaga played against Bellatrix Manuputty of Jakarta. Both women started the match with a decent pace and remained quite close until 15-15. The Dutch made some crucial mistakes
giving her opponent an opportunity to win the opening set by a tight score of 21-19.
In the following set, Yao Jie made a strong comeback and geared up the pace right from the starting points. She remained in the lead throughout the entire set, sparing no chance for her opponent to dominate the game. The Dutch won the set after a good fight
by a reasonable lead of 21-16.
The third and final set was a demonstration of the technical and tactical skills of the Dutch, as she was in complete control of the rallies. Yao dictated the pace of the rallies by putting more speed in her strokes. Hard to return smashes, strong pushes
and clever play at the net earned her the game by a huge difference of 21-11.
In the following contest of this final team event match, Suryanaga’s Lindaweni Fanetri crushed Jakarta’s Renna Suwarno in straight-sets. Lindaweni sprinted towards the destination, as she took only 26 minutes to defeat her opponent with a 21-14 and 21-11
score on the board. Renna tried very hard to match the speed of her opponent but remained unsuccessful, as Lindaweni was better in all departments of the game.
The third Singles fight of the team event final was between Aprilia Yuswandari of Suryanaga and Rizky Amalia from J R Jakarta. Aprilia started the opening set in an impressive style, as she proved to be the most aggressive shuttler of the match. Right from
the start she built pressure on her opponent and maintained it throughout the set. Amalia was quite helpless in front of the firing shuttler of Suryanaga, whose powerful smashes finished the opening set in just 10 minutes by a big difference of 21-6.
The second set was somewhat competitive, as both players remained close until the interval, where Aprilia was leading 11-8. Again, the Suryanaga lady occupied the driving seat and started to dictate the pace of the game. She maintained a comfortable lead
in the ending-half of the set and finished it with a remarkable gap of 21-11. This win of Aprilia sealed the sixth successive victory for J R Suryanaga badminton club, which is an incredible feat in the history of the badminton club league events in Indonesia.
