  1. the average is the sum of all the numbers divided by how many numbers you have. so here you have 5 numbers:

    average = (10+7+8+3+10)/5

    average = 38/5

    average = 7.6


  2. Actually J and jane got more and more curious so they both got into their car and wound up in the back seat.

  3. average (cars/hour) = total cars / # of hours

    average= (10+7+8+3+10)/5

    38/5=7.6 cars/hour
