I have a JBL encounter speaker system. Normally, when the speakers work, A green light turns on. Now the light does not turn on, no audio comes out, and the power seems to be off. Yes, the power cord is plugged, but it could be faulty. Also, a smell of burnt plastic/rubber emits from the hole at the top. Its possible that a fuse shorted. any answers?

  1. something fried you might luck out and get some replacement parts through radio/shack

  2. idk

  3. No, a blown fuse won't give off a scent. Most likely you've fried a resistor or a transformer. You're going to have to take it into the shop for a looksee. Sorry!

If it's out of warranty, try to find a shop that offers free estimates. If it's in warranty, contact Harmon Industries (Owners of the JBL brand)
