JBWere Australian Masters betting odds (part1)
A battle to restore the lost throne will start on Thursday at the Victoria Golf Club, where Tiger Woods will tee off to defend his title against an Australian field.
JBWere Australian Masters will witness the action packed drama, but who will play the lead role is a question that needs pondering. In order to answer the question, here is the betting preview of the event, which is carrying a purse of $1.35 million.
1-Geoff Ogilvy
He was part of the Ryder Cup team despite having no prior experience at the biannual tournament. Corey Pavin took the Aussie in because of his talent with the putters. This is what he will need on the par-72 course. Although, the length will be crucial to
handle, but a strong relationship with the venue will make the chemistry more reliable. Ogilvy has a track record of knowing the course for 17 years, which satisfies the first requirement for a victory.
Secondly, the 33-year-old has strong form on the course. He finished in the top 10 at the 2002 Australian Open. Moreover, he has a membership of the course, which means that it will be yet another practice match for the 2006 US Open winner.
Geoff has showed a consistent performance ever since the Fed Ex series. He missed the cut in the Barclays, seized the T2 spot in Deutsche Bank, T24 in BMW and T13 in the Tour Championship. The stats prove that he is improving as a golfer and chances are
that he will finish in the top 2 here at Victoria Golf Club.
Moreover, he was ranked T4 in Greens hits in Regulation and T2 in putts per greens at the Deutsche Bank. He improved his stats and claimed T3 for greens hit at the BMW and T14 in the Tour Championship.
2- Tiger Woods
He is the defending champion of the show, which means he will be the player to watch. In 2009, Tiger Woods defeated Stuart Allenby by two strokes. He hit six birdies and one bogey. Woods has not made considerable appearances in Australia, but he has played
the Australian Masters 2009 and the President’s Cup at Royal Melbourne in 1998.To his credit, he won both the times. This deduces the fact that Tiger has a fair idea of the course.
As far as his form is concerned, the World number two has shown tremendous improvement from the days of FedEx series. He defeated Francesco Molinari in singles at Ryder Cup and then seized the top 5th spot in the HSBC championship in China. Moreover,
he grabbed the 25th spot in Green Hits in Regulations in Shanghai, which was way better than the average reached in BMW championship 2010.
More or less, Tiger is backed up by a strong motivation, which has taken the front seat ever since he realised that he will enter the next year winless. The 14-times-major winner has failed to win a single tournament this year. However, to end this turmoil
he is ready to give it one last shot.
Stakes are high that Woods will be the one standing on the winner’s podium, owing to the frail competition he will face on Thursday. Except for Geoff Ogilvy, Stuart Appleby and Robert Allenby no other player is close enough to the criteria of defeating Tiger
Woods.
This is it for the first half of the betting preview of the JBWere Australian Masters, which will start on 11th November, 2010 at Victoria Golf Club. The event will mark the end of the PGA Tour Australasia, which signifies that the entire field
will be fighting hard for the prize money of $250,000. Despite a trio hits the mind, will Tiger Woods retain his title? Will Stuart Appleby smash a 59 once again? Who will mark the end of the tour with a win?
